Paul looked tired when he arrived to model at our evening sketch club. He had already put in a long day working the colleges and had rushed up to Saratoga to fill in when our scheduled model canceled. I asked him to pose lying on an inclined panel and stretch his arms forward as if he were wearily crawling up a hill. Something about the situation reminded Paul of Richard Connell's short story "The Most Dangerous Game", about a marooned traveler hunted for sport. As you can see, I had Paul in my sights, but he got away.
